Who I am
I'm Hannah Deacon, a Registered Dietitian (RD), Personal Trainer (CPT), author, and wellness and mindset coach
With a deep passion for personal growth and transformation, I've dedicated my career to helping individuals achieve their health and fitness goals through personalized nutrition, effective training, and cognitive-behavioral strategies.
Originally from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, I earned a double major from the University of Alberta, focusing on food safety, production, quality, and clinical nutrition. My extensive education also includes completing an accredited integrated dietetic internship in various specialties, including diabetes and weight management, across multiple hospitals. As the author of "Wellness on a Plate: When Healthy Meets Quick" and a certified Craving Change Facilitator (Craving Change™), I utilize cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) techniques to address emotional eating and facilitate behavior change for long-term success. Recognizing the interconnectedness of diet, fitness, and mental health, I obtained certification as a Sports Dietitian through Niagara College's Nutrition for Sport and Performance program in May 2021. Since 2016, I've operated my private practice, Hannah Deacon Dietitian, where I've helped clients achieve their health and wellness goals. Additionally, I've taught courses on nutrition for lung health and applied nutrition science at institutions such as the Edmonton General Hospital and Elevated Learning Academy.
In addition to my extensive background in nutrition and fitness, I am deeply committed to personal growth and development. I've invested in my own growth by completing training in Tony Robbins courses and other transformative programs. Drawing upon this wealth of knowledge, I integrate motivational interviewing techniques to enhance behavior change and transform people's habits, creating sustainable and lasting results. My commitment to promoting health and wellness has garnered attention from various media platforms, including Todayville Edmonton, Virgin Radio, Edify Magazine, and the "What's Your Hustle Podcast." In addition to my professional endeavors, I enjoy staying active through workouts, hiking, salsa dancing, and crafting delicious, nutritious recipes that are quick and easy to prepare. I'm thrilled to share my expertise and passion for holistic wellness with you and help you reach your goals!
